My idea was to stop service one by one until it starts working, but because when I try to stop, it just hangs on "stopping", then this tactic is useless. Tried to run Fix My Network Wizard, it hangs Disabled all non-microsoft services and disabled all startup items that were not MS relatedĩ. Tried "sfc /scannow", it hangs on "beginning system scan. it uninstalled ok, but when I try to reinstall, it just sits on "preparing your computer"ĥ. We did have SP2 installed, I tried to uninstall so I could reinstall and hope it would fix it. We did have Acronis backup, which got removed (using its own uninstalling agent, uninstalled correctly)Ĥ. We did have APC Powerchute installed, which got removed (manually as programs won't uninstall)ģ. Reset the TCP/IP parameters back to default as some were corruptĢ. In safe mode with networking, internet explorer opens and navigates network and sharing center opens up without any problems I can see the updates installed, etcĪ few things (among thousand other things we tried):ġ. After so many tests and my humble opinion, I believe is all to do with a problematic service perhaps? All of those perhaps depending on something that is not responding? Because: I think although the services are coming up as started, I think they aren't responding. Server won't send e-mails (messages stuck on outbox) - but receives ok If I try to see the last installed updates, it hangs on "searching for installed updates"ħ. Services starts ok (server takes 1h30m to start up), but if I try to stop it, it hangs on stopping and if I try to start a stopped service, it hangs on startingĥ. Programs won't uninstall (as windows installer processes hangs on "stopping"Ĥ. When clicking network and sharing center, it pops up but hangs as if it was waiting for something before displaying its propertiesģ. I have downloaded mozilla firefox in order to use the internet and when i start my computer in safe mode, all those things work. I cannot open my documents, control panel or internet explorer when i try i get an error message saying that windows explorer/internet explorer has experienced an error and needs to shut down. ![]()
